Not found in the wild

Albino form is a captive-bred color mutation of Pseudotropheus socolofi

The wild-type species originates from:

Lake Malawi, East Africa

Primarily Taiwan Reef and surrounding rocky areas

Albino socolofi are produced through selective breeding, not hybridization.

Creamy white to pale pink

Red or pink eyes (true albino trait)

Moderately aggressive Mbuna

Behavior is identical to normal socolofi

Territorial males defend rock caves

Best kept:

1 male with 3–4 females, or

In overstocked Mbuna tanks to spread aggression

Can be aggressive toward similarly shaped or colored Mbuna
